Duke City

Starts of Polo in ABQ

Bike polo started in New Mexico when a local cyclist saw the game featured on John Prolly's Radavist fixied gear blog in 2009. After he a friend Nikki tried to play with push brooms at Tiguex Park, they regrouped found some friends DIYed some mallets and got together on May 5, 2009. Since then Albuquerque has facilitated numerous talented players, tournaments, and events including the 2014 regional qualifiers. Albuquerque's polo community has been promoting the sport and building a community of bike polo enthusiasts in the region. Duke City Bike Polo organizes regular matches, practices, new player trainings for those interested in the sport, and social gatherings for the community.
