What is Hardcourt Bike Polo?
What began in 1999 as a way for Seattle bike messengers to kill time between runs has evolved and flourished into an international sport. Today you can see a sport with a national organizational board, international clubs and competitions around the world and increasing exposure to the mainstream.
Bike polo is a contact sport played on bikes with mallets and a ball in teams of 3.
It’s fun, fast paced, and played by a broad range of friendly people of all genders.
Our approach to the game is to promote accessibility to all levels (yes, we will even teach you how to ride a bike if needed) and encourage the growth of our experienced players through healthy competition.
Though the state of New Mexico has a long history of horse polo and grass-bike polo, Hardcourt Bike Polo was first played in New Mexico on May 5, 2009.

Duke City Bike Polo is a popular bike polo club based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The club participates in bike polo tournaments and events, promoting the sport and building a community of bike polo enthusiasts in the region. Duke City Bike Polo organizes regular matches, practices, new player trainings for those interested in the sport, and social gatherings for the community.
We play regularly on
Sundays at Heights Community Center
(hours vary by season)
Summer: 5pm or 6pm until 9pm
We also host Polo Parties (Fun Bike community events that encourages the pass time of heckling polo players) at Heights Community Center

Rising from the Ashes, Santa Fe bike polo is making a come back recruiting strong new players and creating a social space for folks in our state's capital.
We play regularly Saturdays and Thursdays at Herb Martinez Park.
Loaner bikes and mallets are almost always available, please reach out for sizing.
(hours vary by season)
Summer 2024 times:
Saturday mornings 9 AM - noon or whenever everyone's ready to go home.
Thursday evenings 5 PM - dark.
